Hopefully, if restrictions will allow, we’re going to the Nordic Kite Meeting 2021 in Rømø the first week of September. And I have a few kites needing some TLC!
Today I had plenty of time to go flying after work, so it didn’t take long until the kitebags were loaded into the car and I was on my way to the field!
What was planned a testflight of the Rokkaku Stormy and the Subvision, a new/old quad line kite from Kites Spitfire, ended up as a Hardcore workout because of variable winds.
I’m still preparing for the “How to Build a Rokkaku” project and yesterday I built a prototype. I’ve called it Stormy because now we’re talking heavy duty!
As you probably know by now, I always carry a few, no, many kites in the back of my car. Because then you can always fly given the opportunity!
There was almost no wind on the location I initially wanted to fly so I had to walk along the coastline looking for some decent wind. I found it!

The day started out with heavy rain showers and a trip to the veterinary with two of our horses. But during the day the rain ceased and eventually the sun came out. …and the wind!
