The other day I was playing around with Google Maps looking for interesting places to fly. Then I found this place called Saltholmen. It’s a tiny peninsula about thirty minutes away from home.

This spot is located out by the sea and when the wind is coming in from the south – like today – it’s absolutely immaculate flying conditions out there. The wind was as smooth as I’ve ever experienced up here in my neck of the woods and clocking in at around 3 meters per second (7mph). One word: Perfect! 🤩

Originally I had planned for some kite aerial videography, but the wind was a notch too low for making my Rokkakus lift the rig. So the rig stayed in the bag. But soon I was ready to launch a handful of Roks.

Yes, I’m afraid that I repeat myself when I say that the kites were glued or stapled to the sky. But this time the wind was so smooth and stable so the kites stood absolutely stationery up there. Wonderful.

All the Rokkakus I flew at Saltholmen today are kites that I have built myself. It gives me such a pleasure to see that something I’ve created myself actually works and fly just like they’re supposed to. That’s a wonderful feeling.

Like (almost) always I brought a couple of cameras and managed to shoot quite a bit of footage and here’s the final, edited result.

AoxomoxoA 🤩
