One of the unique characteristics of a quad lined kite is that you can stop it dead anywhere in the wind window and make it stick there like it was glued to the spot; the hover.
And when your kite sitting in a stable upright hover, it’s a great starting point for one of the other unique features for a QLK; the slide!
Yes, you can fly your kite sideways all across the wind window … and back. This move is called a slide or a side slide, and you can do it in two ways. Either with your leading-edge facing up, an upright side slide, or the leading edge facing down, an inverted side slide.
Both the upright and the inverted slides have quite a few things in common and in this tutorial we’re gonna take a really close look at the upright side slide. And hopefully, I’m able to give you a few tips and hints on how you can learn to master this move too!
All right, lets dive into it!
