I didn’t have much time on my hands for this little excursion of mine so I didn’t bother to bring any kites. The drone on the other hand was sitting nicely in the passenger seat so that I could take a look at the spot from a bird’s point of view too.
According to the GPS the drive should take just eleven minutes, but I got stuck in somewhat of a traffic jam downtown Moss – the town where I live – so it took more like twenty minutes to get there.
Anyway, I got there, parked the car and walked the 100, 150 meters from the parking to the water. And I was in for a pleasent surprise! As I walked out of the forest I got to this really nice little sandy beach kind of “pointing” out into the water.
I normally fly on the west side of this island, Jeløy, but now I was on the east side. The tiny beach was very nicely exposed to winds from the south and the north. And on a good day, I guess winds from the east are flyable too. From this point you also get a really good view of the waterfront of Moss, a couple of marinas and some suburban area in the distance. I guess this would make a really great spot for KAP and KAV too!
The beach is far from ideal for flying on long lines. Shortlined flying on the other hand would cause no problems whatsoever! As well as flying single lined kites.
So to cut a long story short….
Yes, I’ve found myself another really nice little flying spot!
