So when the wind was about 7 meters per second in from the water I decided to take to the field, fly a stack and shoot some footage!
According to the weather forecast, the wind was about to die down in the late afternoon, and that’s probably a good thing when you’re about to fly a stack of four (or more) kites. Because when the wind picks up it’s interesting how much pull that stack of four rather small kites can build up! So a decent pair of flying lines are required. My choice for the current conditions was a set of 45 meters lines with a breaking strength of about 100 kg.
Last time out, I didn’t have tails on my stacked kites, but this time all four of them had nice black and yellow tails attached to the lower end of the spines. Not required, but it sure adds to the beauty of the flying stack.
Don’t you think?
