And that’s exactly what I did recently at one of my favorite flying spots: Refsnes Beach, located on the island of Jeløy in Moss, Norway.
The conditions couldn’t have been better. Low tide revealed wide-open stretches of pebbled beach, perfect for setting up and giving the lines some room to breathe. A gentle, steady breeze rolled in off the water—smooth winds that make every move effortless. The air was crisp but comfortable, with decent temperatures around 12–13°C, just warm enough to enjoy flying without bundling up too much.
For this session, I brought out the A-Quad Semivented—a top-tier quad lined kite that really shines in conditions like these. The Semivented version is perfect for moderate wind, offering that sweet balance between precision and power. The kite felt alive in the air, responsive to every input, and eager to play.
I spent most of the session chasing flow and rhythm, working on smooth carving passes and throwing in some popping flat axels when the mood struck. With the wind steady and the kite dialed in, everything just clicked. There’s a real sense of harmony that happens when you and your kite are in sync—and on this day, it was all there.
Refsnes Beach isn’t just a great flying location because of the wind; it’s also a visual treat. With the Oslofjord stretching out to the horizon, rolling waves, and dramatic sky colors shifting throughout the afternoon, it’s a place that fills both the lungs and the soul. The beautiful scenery adds that extra layer of joy to every session.
Whether you’re a seasoned quad flyer or just starting your journey, days like these are what it’s all about. No rush, no expectations—just the wind, the kite, and you.
If you’re ever near Moss, Norway, and looking for a solid place to fly, Refsnes Beach should definitely be on your list. Wide-open space, great wind, and stunning views—it checks all the boxes.
Until next time, pack your gear, find your spot, and remember: just fly.
