However, using earphones is perhaps not the best solution for filming a Mystery Ballet. There’s no sound to be recorded!
Off course I can add the piece of music while editing the video, but… no, I want the real thing!
But first, what is a Mystery Ballet actually?
I’ve searched the net for a good explanation, but so far I haven’t come across any. (Please let me know if you know where to look!) But as far as I’m concerned, a Mystery Ballet is that you play a piece of music (that you’ve listened to quite a few times) and interpret the music flying your kite. There is no defined routine, you just kind of go with the flow following the dynamics of the music, the beats, the punctuations, the crescendos, the tempo variations, well, you know.
In a previous post here at the website, I’ve told you that I enjoy flying quad lined kites to funky music. That’s still my preference and when I fly to music, I mostly have that music genre pumping into my ears.
Just like today! But rather than using the headphones, I was using my Bluetooth JBL loudspeaker, yeah, the real thing!
So with cool funky tunes blasting out of the loudspeaker I took a stab at mysterious ballet flying. …and I filmed a couple of them!
Far from perfect but Big Fun!
Below you can take a look at my attempt to interpret two pieces of music with my kite, just going with the flow. Both videos are spiced with the sound of the wind, the breaking waves and from time to another my feet stumbling in the pebbled beach!
