Yeah, disconnect from the world and rather connect to the elements. And the very best way for me to do this is to go fly a kite!
Yesterday was such a day. I’d been going around all day really, much too connected to the real world, and I really needed some time well into my own little bubble away from everything. So after work, I hopped into my car and headed for the beach.
I was kind of worried it was unflyable due to the heavy snowfall the other day, but when I got there I quickly found that most of the snow had melted. (What a waste!) On the pier – which is one of my fave flying spots – there were only a few patches of snow left and flying should be no problems at all.
So I opted for my yellow vented QLK and hooked it up to an actually pretty worn 10m lineset. (I better dig up some silicon for that lineset pretty soon!)
Then I opened the door into that bubble of mine, entered and shut the rest of the world out for a while!
Here are a couple of videos I quickly put together this morning. Nothing fancy in here, just me flying and looking for that peace of mind.
I found it by the way….
