This week I’ve been continuously keeping an eye on the weather forecast to see what day would bring the best winds for flying. Saturday or Sunday. But that’s not been easy. The forecast has been changing day by day thus making it hard to reach a conclusion. But come Friday afternoon, it seemed like Sunday would bring the best conditions. So that became Plan A!
So… Sunday early afternoon and the light winds came from the northwest… not from the northeast as forecasted. No worries though, I knew a perfect flying spot for that wind direction; Gullholmsundet!
I made sure to bring both kites and the Mavic Mini drone to do some sort of flying even if the wind should drop to zero. But when I arrived at the parking it became pretty clear that there was plenty of wind!👍
I had planned to do some drone shots and prepared a few missions using the Maven Fly app and I started out to do those missions prior to putting the kites up. Both the missions and shooting footage in “Follow me” mode worked really well. I soon had the needed recordings, and it was time to get a few kites up in the air!
Soon a couple of Rokkakus and a Crow delta kite were up there and I could just lay down on the beach watching the kites, the clouds and the sky!
