I didn’t leave home until eight thirty in the evening but still having several hours to play with. So with a car full of kites and some KAP gear I was ready for some kite flying action on a nice Wednesday evening.
Smooth winds from the south-west at about four, maybe five meters per second and a sun warming up for the Golden Hour, pretty good, eh?
So i soon had the Pink Rok flying steadily up there above that little jetty of mine. Got the KAP rig fixed to the flying line and connected the camera to my phone and I was ready. I had opted for a thin 50kg flying line hoping it would be sufficient for the current wind and light enough to get the kite and the rig really high up there.
That line worked perfectly! I let out all of it and the kite got so high up there I could barely see the rig. When flying the camera that high I lose connection to my phone so I can no longer see what it’s capturing, but I kept my fingers crossed for some good stuff.
After three quarters of an hour or so I decided to bring it all down to the ground again, pack up and head back home and check out the footage and maybe edit some of it too!
