Almost in the middle of the town where I live, Moss, there is this new hotel called the Riviera. It’s located down at the waterfront and between the hotel and the water, there is this park and an artificial sandy beach. I’ve had the idea of flying in its location for quite some time because according to Google Maps, it seems to be a great place for flying … when there are not many people around.
So last weekend the weather was nice and the wind favourable. Temperatures close to freezing too so there probably wouldn’t be many people on the beach. I was right. I had the beach almost to myself and the park was pretty much desolated too.
The wind was kind of variable, mostly from the north and at about 2 to 4 meters per second. But I have a feeling the shore buildings made an impact on the wind, both the wind speed and the direction. But not more than could be manageable by moving about on the sandy beach.
It all came out a more than decent time flying in this new and interesting location!
