I walked over to the car and took a quick look inside. It looked kind of like it used to look three days into the Nordic Kite Meeting; a heap of kites in there. I opted for a bag of gliders because I knew exactly where I would try to fly.
Just a quick walk away from the stables, you’ll get to this small river, twisting and turning its way through the rural landscape. For a long time now I have been thinking about flying by that little river, and today was to be the day.
So off I went with a few gliders in one hand, my GoPro gear in the other and a flying line in my pocket. It didn’t take long until I was at the riverbank and got that “southern feeling”. I knew exactly what today’s video was gonna look. I even heard the ‘soundtrack’ inside my head, and I started to shoot some B-roll and establishing scenes.
With that out of the way, I was ready to fly. There was this tiny jetty from which I could fly, but space was limited so I had to go for a really small kite. The wind was interesting too. I’d thought that the river should be sheltered by the surrounding vegetation, but still, there was this unpredictable draft. But what the heck, let’s give it a go!
