I had all kinds of kites and a drone sitting in the back of my car and I was not quite sure where to go with them. A place where I could fly them all? Was that too much to ask for?

Anyway, I decided to go to the Teibern beach; a beach large enough to fly on both short lines and long lines. But as I got there I found I wasn’t the only one with this idea. The beach was packed with kitesurfers. I counted at least fifteen of them on the beach or out in the water, so I decided to walk on to the next beach, the Søndre Nesbukta, and check out the conditions over there.

Well, there were no kitesurfers there and whilst getting closer I soon found that there was no one else there either. But we had sun and wind in abundance… and chilly temperatures too! Thankfully my new kite jacket – orange of course – kept me warm in the strong wind!

Now it was all down to picking a kite for the conditions. I was thinking about the A-quad Hardcore but suddenly I remembered that that kite has a broken leading edge that I haven’t gotten around to fixing yet. I had to go for another one and the triple vented green one seemed the right kite for the medium ++ winds!

I walked onto the beach and started to fly. Ahhhhh! Feeling good! The triple vented kite worked perfectly in the stiff and somewhat bumpy winds coming “around the corner”. You know all that ventilation kind of rules out some of the gusts pretty good.

But how about walking over to the other side of the beach. Could the wind be a bit more stable over there? Was that other part of the beach better exposed to the current wind conditions? So I walked over to check it out. And as I walked over I think I could sense a gradually more stable wind.

And guess what! I found another interesting thing too; a small jetty or something similar! Pretty worn by the elements but still holding up for a cool place to fly!

Need I say more?!
