Yes, after the ‘break in’ I’ve taken a few steps to get it all back online again. I first closed down the original site so I could work behind the scenes to (try to) find out what had been going on.
I then created a new domain, kites.aerialis.com and installed a new, fresh WordPress platform. Then I added some very good security plugins and a tiny handful of others to recreate the functionality I wanted.
Now I was ready to recreate the few static pages. You know, a contact page, a search page, presentation pages for the AERIALIS Team Flyers and a few others.
As soon as the framework was in place I started to manually go through each and every post, yeah, all the 380s of them, looking for suspicious stuff and clean it all up. I went through the posts month by month and imported the cleaned months into the new site. Thankfully WordPress has some good tools for this. So the procedure was pretty straight forward, but time-consuming.
But today I cleaned up the rest of the old posts and transferred them I to the new site. So now all posts are once again online and available from the new website!
