Having fought the high winds throughout the week, things calmed down in the weekend. It was time to put down the vented stuff and bring on kites that would fly in the lighter winds.
I’ve got plenty of those kind of kites too, so I soon had the 3Dee out of its sleeve and up in the air. The 3Dee is a quad lined kite I bought in eBay some years ago. It’s pretty basic but I’ve played around with it for some time and tweaked it to have a kind of three dimensional sail ad not the normal flat one.
This shape will change the kite’s flight characteristics significantly. Yes, you surely can fly it like any other quad kite, but it adds some spicy stuff to your flying.
Then on Sunday the wind was even lighter but now it came in from the sea or at least along the beach. No more bumpy winds but a nice and stable draft perfect for gliding with the Zaephay!
