Yes, I know it may sound like a contradiction – flying kites indoors – but it’s completely possible!
Sure, I understand the look on your face, and I get the question about fans, but I’m not joking when I say I don’t want any airflow from fans. No, I want it to be windless, completely still in the air, so it’s me, and only me, who creates the necessary pressure in the sail to make the kite fly.
When it’s completely windless, I’m in control, and I can’t complain about uneven wind strength or changing wind direction. And believe me, that makes things a bit easier!
Flying kites indoors may not be as difficult as it sounds. I’ve seen several beginners manage to do it in a very short time. Sure, maybe not the most advanced maneuvers or the coolest tricks, but they manage to keep the kite in the air for a while. …and that’s where it starts.
So, I’ve made a little video that will hopefully turn some doubters into believers because it’s absolutely possible to fly kites – regardless of the number of lines – indoors!
