The preparations continue — and now the four-line kites have gone through their annual pre-meeting inspection too.

After checking frames, bridles, leaders, lines and sails, I’m happy to report that only a couple of them needed small adjustments before being declared flight-ready. Not bad at all considering how much airtime some of these kites have seen over the years.

For team flying, having the right sail for the right wind makes a huge difference. Nordic Kite Meeting can throw pretty much every possible wind condition at us during the week, so having a full range of quads packed and ready is almost mandatory.

Here’s the current lineup heading for Denmark:

• A-Quad Storm (Very high wind)

And of course… there’s also a healthy pile of backup kites waiting in the bag should one of the main machines decide to retire mid-session.

Because let’s be honest:
A kite meeting without at least one emergency spar repair would almost feel suspiciously organized.

The countdown is getting short now, and the gear pile is slowly turning into organized chaos — which usually means departure day is getting close.
