The daylight is really scarce now. The sun rises at about 08:50 and sets at 15:20 so there is not much time for flying unless you go at the weekends. And so I did!
We haven’t had any snow yet, but the air smelled “snowy” today, but it kept from falling. A thin layer of clouds in about 49 shades of grey covered the sky, so no sunshine, but a light breeze from the northeast. Pretty steady too at about 4-6 meters per second. Now that is close to perfect for my 1.8m rokkakus!
Based on my experience with the cold/wind combination, I made sure to dress properly and yes, I kept warm all day long. Well.. maybe except for the hands. You can’t wear gloves all the time!
Soon I had the fluorescent orange Rokkaku up there and the picavet, the gimbal and the GoPro camera ready to shoot some footage.
The stable winds made for some really, really smooth footage and below you can enjoy – hopefully – a handful of sequences from an absolutely great day KAP’ing!
