It was pretty close to freezing this morning when I let the dogs out. The sun was shining but there was a hint of frost in the shady parts of the lawn. Brrr!
But we had wind, a car full of kites and a couple of hours to fly. So with proper clothing, and after two cups of coffee, I was on the go, heading for a beach.
When I got there, the conditions were exactly like I’d anticipated. The low tide was revealing a reasonably large piece of the sandbank where I planned to fly and the wind – a tad lighter than forecasted – hit the beach straight in from the water. The sun was beating down but still, it was really cold. I established my base camp sheltered from some shrubbery, assembled the kite and got the gimbal powered up. I was ready to fly!
Nothing more to say actually, other than I found out the GoPro camera is waterproof! Just check out the video below and watch it to the end!

From the moon ( https://kites.aerialis.com/offshore-and-turbulent/ ) to an exoplanet landscape (the under water image above). I see a greenish sky on a dessert planet while something immense is landing. (Part of explanation could be the large amount of paperback sci-fi read during the years around high school and after.)
Good forceful and quick piloting, especially starting from 4:36, showing that kite who is in charge!
Yeah, I’d like to take you with me on this ‘kiting journey’ of mine exploring the different planets in our solar system … and beyond! May the Force be with you! ?
Yeah, I kind of nailed those sharp corners! I take my playing dead serious! ?
/S.
It took me some time to remember where I had seen the colours before, i.e. from which book cover:
