So when having a couple of hours on my hands, I stuffed two kite bags into the back of my car and drove the quick drive down to one of the many local beaches. Nice conditions too, sunny and around +15C and wind at about 4-6 m/sec coming in from the water. Who could ask for more?!
It was time for some more 2-point landing practice. in our new, or rather somewhat modified, team routine for the NKM23, there are a couple of 2-point landings and it’s a significant success factor to have these landings down (no pun intended). So I thought I’d go to the beach and do a couple of hundred of them!
I chose the Nirvana High Wind for the current conditions. Not necessarily because it was needed, but more because I wanted to get a feel for that high-wind kite that probably is going to see significant air time in Denmark. Sometimes it’s pretty windy down there!
I find the High Wind, or HW, quite different to fly compared to the other Nirvana versions, the WW (Without Wind) the LW (Low Wind) and the Standard. Of course, it’s different because of the mesh in the sail, but it kind of feels softer in the frame. And at least for me, it has taken some time to really get e good feel for that High Wind.
But today I at least found out about how to whack the two wing tips of that kite hard into the ground in countless 2-point landings, and here you can have a look at 37 of them!
