The sun was shining and the winds swept the grassy field at Dragør when the kite nerds (?) gathered for the first of two days at the DQ 2018. Great setting, great people, great atmosphere… Just great!
Big hugs all over before John kicked off the Clinic by leading us through all that nitty gritty. The evolution of the Revolution, ... Ehhh… Hadziki wing that is, spar dynamics, sail pattern and layout, stress areas, bridle details, venting issues, flying characteristics, lines, handles, curves, fulcrum and whatnot. Interesting and all in the right context.
Then we hit the field where John talked through and demo’ed several aspects of flying specific moves like the axel, bicycle variations, flic flags, hovering, sliding and a whole bunch of other stuff.
Finally hands on the handles for some flying trying to remember all of John’s input.
Finally we all gathered for some eight pilots team flying. Loads of quad line fun during the afternoon while adding new tools to our toolboxes and good memories for life.
As the dark rainclouds gathered we called it a day and the minute we had stuffed all the gear into the trunk and sank down into the car seats, it started to rain. Perfect timing!
The weather forecast for tomorrow is promising so stay tuned for more updates from the field!
