The weather the past few days has been quite variable, with a greater emphasis on the bad weather than the nice weather. Rain, drizzle, fog, and cool days have been the norm, and sunny moments have been few and far between.
But yesterday, I woke up to a sky only partially covered by clouds and the sun breaking through, casting its rays on a soaked earth. The forecast had predicted rain, but the forecast hadn’t been entirely reliable lately. So what about today?
Well, after about an hour or so, the clouds had once again taken over the sky, and the first raindrops hit the ground. Oh well, there went the hope of a little kite-flying session on the beach this afternoon… again.
But wouldn’t you know it…? Around four o’clock, the clouds started to break, and it got brighter outside. Was this a sign of improving weather, I wondered? And yes, look! The sun broke through as well, and based on the movement of the branches on the trees in my garden, there was wind too, coming in from the south!
No time to waste. I grabbed my kite bag, jumped into the car, and headed towards Sjøbadet, one of the many local beaches where the southerly wind would sweep in from the fjord.
And what didn’t seem like much wind at home in Villa AERIALIS turned out to be much stronger when I got down to the beach. But who cares when you’re equipped for all types of wind?
It was freakin’ ice cold, though!
