And I was hoping that after having captured them there would be a tiny time slot for flying some zero-wind kites. The conditions were perfect, blue sky, sunny and … no wind!
But as always when you’re working with horses, you must always make sure to have a Plan B up your sleeve. Because fixing the fences took a little longer than expected and soon the daylight was gone and too dark for flying.
Outside…
But as you might know, I have access to an indoor riding arena and it’s a perfect place for indoor flying … when there are no horses around! Like last night!
So when all the stable work was completed, I grabbed a couple of zero-wind flyers, a lineset and the GoPro camera and walked the couple of hundred meters over to the riding arena. Inside it’s as cold as on the outside, a couple of degrees below zero, but you know, running around keeping that no-wind kite in the air makes for a good workout, so no worries. I stayed warm!
And I made sure to put up the tripod with the GoPro and capture some footage of me flying my fluorescent yellow Sweety! A GREAT little kite for indoor (and light wind) flying! In the video below, you can take part in the action yourself!
