Having all the fun in the world at the Nordic Kite Meeting this year, we learned a couple of things. First the Super Vented High Wind kite that Anders had built required a reasonably steady strong wind. We didn’t get that. What we got was very bumpy offshore winds making it impossible to fly the kite in the lower pockets of wind speed.
So when back home Anders started to play around with the kite creating removable panels, making it possible to adjust the venting according to the wind conditions!
We also found that the team wasn’t equipped with enough no-wind Nirvanas (Nirvana WW) so we had to compromise somewhat, flying one Level One Badass SUL in addition to the three Nirvanas.
Yes, it worked all right, but you know…. Not the ultimate setup. 😉
So Anders sat down at the drawing table once again and started to work on a new kite, a new team kite for the AERIALIS Team Flyers, a kite that still will fly when the wind drops down to almost nothing.
And he came up with this one! The A-SUL!
Yes, the is the first one of its kind, but with all those years of kite building (and flying) experience I’m pretty sure Anders has nailed it once again and I must admit I’m super excited to get to fly that beautiful kite on a calm day!
Stay tuned for more!
