For me, there are two things working like therapy.
Being with our horses is one of the two things that makes me feel really relaxed. They do their things and you can do nothing else but accept it and just … exist and live in the moment. Rich or poor, black or white, thin or thick, tall or low. It doesn’t matter at all. The horses don’t care about that. ’cause when a horse greets you with a nicker and regards you with a large and liquid eye, the question of where you want to be has been answered. It’s therapy.
The other thing is flying kites.
Somehow it’s a kind of connection with the elements, it’s a way of disconnect from real life for a moment. Forget about troubles and woes and focus on the kite and the wind only. Holding on to the strings and make the kite dance with the wind up there in the sky. Make it do the most difficult trick combinations or carve simple geometric shapes in the air. Or just lie on your back on the ground and watch the clouds travel across the sky as a perfect backdrop for the single lined kite you made yourself.
Yesterday was like that. I needed an hour or so with myself and a kite … and Mr Tripod. The conditions were good so I just shut the world out and … flew!
It was a good day at the office.
