That exact scenario played out recently when I finally managed to fire up my old Insta360 Go 2.
To my surprise, the tiny camera still held a treasure trove of video files. While most of the footage was classic dragon-flying action with a few random clips mixed in, three specific video files immediately caught my eye.
The Lost Tutorial That Wasn’t
Back when these clips were originally shot, I had mounted the Insta360 Go 2 directly to my head to capture a true Point-of-View (POV) perspective while flying my A-Quad Semivented kite down in the lower end of its wind range.
The original intent? To put together a comprehensive flying tutorial. But as fate would have it, that project never saw the light of day. When the camera’s charging case suddenly died shortly after, the footage vanished into digital limbo—until now.
What You Get (And What You Don’t)
Let’s be honest: this isn’t a slick, professionally edited production. There are no fancy transitions, no post-production visual effects, and—true to the lost tutorial theme—no spoken instructions.
Instead, what you get is approximately two and a half minutes of raw, uncut, real-time POV footage.
- The Perspective: Filmed straight from my line of sight.
- The Action: Clear views of my arms and hands working the lines, alongside the immediate reactions of the A-Quad Semivented as it catches the lighter breeze.
- The Vibe: Pure, unfiltered kite flying.
Is it a bit nerdy? Definitely! But for anyone who appreciates the subtle hand movements and tactile feedback of flying a high-performance quad-line kite, watching the direct correlation between pilot input and kite response is pure satisfaction.
The revived clip is up now—enjoy the flight!
