Add in a long stretch of terrible kite weather, and, well… let’s just say the skies have been painfully empty.
But then came last weekend.
Saturday was a washout – literally. Rain, rain, and more rain. Spirits were low. But Sunday? Sunday delivered.
The sun came out. It was warm. And best of all? The wind was on. Strong, steady, and impossible to ignore. With a few rare hours of freedom, I grabbed the kite bag, slathered on some sunscreen, packed a cold drink, and hit the beach.
And oh boy, was it blowing! We’re talking serious wind. The kind that makes your fingers twitch in anticipation. But hey, that’s what hardcore kites are for, right?
Out came the A-Quad Hardcore – my go-to for days like this. With a GoPro strapped to my head, I launched into a solid session of pure kite joy. The wind howled, the kite danced, and for a couple of windblown, sun-soaked hours, everything else faded away.
Flying time has been rare lately, but this short, powerful session reminded me why we keep our lines ready. No matter how hectic life gets or how long the weather refuses to play nice, all it takes is one good day to bring the magic back.
Here’s to more wind, more sun, and more moments in the sky.
