But something in the air hinted that the day had more in store.
As the hours passed, the clouds began to break, letting the sun peek through. By midday, it was all blue skies and a familiar, steady breeze—Windy, just as it had been for over a week now. Only this time, the wind wasn’t cold. It was warm. Inviting!
That was my signal
I grabbed my kite bag without a second thought and headed for the beach. Today, I wasn’t going for a quick spin—I was setting up for a full session. Long lines. Big sky. Precision flying. I pulled out my 40-meter team flying line set and paired it with a triple-vented quad kite, perfectly suited for these breezy conditions.
With the kite stretched 40 meters downwind, I took a breath, planted my feet, and launched.
And wow! What a flight!
From the first pull of the line, I could feel the connection. The kite answered every input with grace—whether I gave it soft, flowing movements or sharp, aggressive commands, it danced in the sky like it knew my intentions before I did.
It was one of those rare sessions where everything clicks: you, the kite, and the wind in perfect harmony.
Time faded. An hour passed like minutes. Then the wind softened slightly—still good, just a little gentler. So, I swapped the triple vented for a double vented setup and got right back to it. Same feeling. Same control. Same joy.
Two solid hours of pure, uninterrupted flying bliss. That’s what it’s all about. The freedom. The flow. The feeling of being completely present in the moment, connected to the elements and your gear. Days like this are why we kite.
Just Fly!
