So I guess it was time to go and do some kite flying. …and so I did!
I got to the beach and, yes, there was wind, a lot of wind coming from the north, from the water. I’d say the wind clocked in to an average of around 9 m/sec (20mph) peaking at about 11 (25mph). Pretty much perfect conditions for my Green triple vented quad kite, 👌
The snow covered ground was crispy on the surface and the snow depth not more than 8 to 10 cm, so definitely flyable conditions.
Soon I had the kite connected to my 30m line set and it was dancing in the air up there and put a big grin on my face! That old beat up kite still can dance and when you go for a longer set of lines, just like I did on Saturday, you’re in for a treat!
Total control in the cold and blustery conditions. Just -2°C but a growing wind from the north definitely added to the chill factor. But hey, it was surely worth every minute!
