I landed awkwardly, with my fist caught between my ribcage and the ground. The result? Some sore ribs that have stuck with me longer than I’d like.
The injury has been frustrating, especially since it kept me from one of my favorite hobbies: flying sport kites. Kite flying is a physical activity—it requires twisting, pulling, and steady control, none of which my ribs have allowed lately.
The good news is that my recovery is nearly complete. The pain has mostly subsided, and I’m optimistic I’ll be able to fly again this weekend. I’ve missed the simple joy of feeling the wind tug at the lines and guiding the kite through loops and dives.
This little setback has been a reminder to take things slow and appreciate the hobbies that make life more enjoyable. With any luck, I’ll be back out at the field soon, ready to let my kite take to the skies again! 🤞
