That day trip to Gothenburg to fly with Anders!
So early, really early Thursday morning I got into my car and just as the clock struck 6 AM, I was on the road heading south.
The weather looked promising, winds from the west, at 5 to 7 m/sec, nice and sunny, and the temperature should peak over +20°C. They are pretty much perfect conditions for flying.
Plan A was to fly at a location called Fiskebäck, but when we got there, somebody surely had forgotten to mow the lawn. One meter tall grass covered the complete field, making sport kite flying almost impossible. We had to turn to Plan B. Anders knew about another location some ten minutes of driving, Askim Beach, so we decided to go there and check it out.
Askim Beach was perfect. Large, grassy fields, lawn mowed, and plenty of space for flying. Yes!
So we rigged ourselves a nice little headquarters for the day, pulled out a few kites and started to fly.
We soon found the wind to be quite bumpy and unpredictable. Its direction shifted from south to west, and the more to the west the more turbulence. But we just regarded it a challenge we had to overcome…and Just Fly!
So we did, and with that mindset, we did pairs flying all day!
So let’s cut out the talking and let the video down below tell the rest of the story. It was a nice day at the office indeed!
