We jumped the ferry in Moss crossing over to Hirtshals in Denmark and flew our socks off that summerish weekend in September and a tradition was born! We came back – in March – the next year. More people, more kites and more fun. And so it goes!
This year, in only 16 days from now, I once again jump a ferry crossing over to Denmark. Not Hirtshals this time but Blokhus, a small village situated on the north-western coast of Jutland, Denmark. The village of Blokhus has become the headquarters for the Nordic Kite Meetings after those first years a little bit north, in Hirtshals.
This year we are throwing the 25th of these meetings! Yes, that’s pretty amazing if you ask me! Every year since 1999 we’ve flying our kites in Denmark for the Nordic Kite Meetings. Even under the pandemic, we managed to feel the soft sand of a Danish beach under our bare feet flying a piece of icarex in the stable winds.
So this year we’re all in for an anniversary, the 25th Nordic Kite Meeting!
I really hope to see you there!
