Last weekend the wind was very (too?) light. Averaging as low as 1m/sec and dropping below that on many occasions. Yesterday however the average wind speed was a notch or two up. I’d say 1,5 to 2 m/sec and with this wind, the A-Super-Ultra-Light-Wind-Kite surely comes to live!
The beach I was flying is somewhat short of space, so I can’t fly using my 40m lines there so once again I had to go for a (much) shorter pair of lines; 20m only. This will significantly reduce the size of the wind window and impact all straight lines, making them much shorter. Not ideal for fully testing the kite’s precision capabilities.
Yes, I definitely will get an impression – and I really can feel its potential – but I can’t jump to any conclusions until I’ve flown it on at least 30-35m lines.
When it comes to more freestyle oriented flying however, 20m lines are more useful. And getting the kite up closer – which is also good for filming – it will do surprisingly many tricks… being a precision oriented team kite!
Just you take a look at the video below! 😊
