I’d say the wind clocked in to approx 4-5m/sec (9-11 mph) and pretty smooth as well. Very nice conditions for REV flying. So out of the bag, my Yellow (self made) REV. I assembled it, rolled out and attached the lines and … lift off!
It was really good. The wind was coming along the beach so I could fly both over land and over the water. Today was hover practice day and alternating flying above the ground and above the water made for some exiting hovers close to the elements. Well, I had to admit that the kite got really wet a couple of times when dipping it too deep into the sea! 😉
No problems though. When it got stuck in some seagrass it was just to walk out to the kite and get it out. The summer has been here for more than two months heating up the sea. Must have been about +25C (75ish Farenhet).
I carry a cell phone tri-pod in the REV-bag so I managed to shoot some cool footage too. Here’s a quick video!
