Don’t get me wrong, that’s a big part of the fun. But there’s so much more to the experience than just flying in sync with your crew.

Between the demos, the candy drops, and the parachuting teddy bears (yep, still loving those), there’s time to relax, hang out on the field, and do your own thing. And for us kite pilots, that usually means grabbing a favorite kite and heading out for some solo flying.

One of my all-time favorites to bring along is the A-Quad Hardcore.
If you know, you know — this thing is smooth, snappy, and seriously fun. It’s a quad-line kite that’s super agile, and what sets it apart is its wide wind range. It’s built to handle medium to higher winds, but don’t let that fool you — it can still fly beautifully even when the breeze starts to fade.

If you’ve got a bit of experience on quad lines, you can keep the Hardcore in the air down to around 3 meters per second. We didn’t quite get that light in Denmark this year, but we hit some sweet, steady seaside winds around 4–6 m/s, and let me tell you — that’s the Hardcore’s happy place.

Just hook up your lines (I went with 40 meters), walk it out, and lift off.
The wind coming in off the sea was smooth as butter, and the kite just came alive. It’s one of those kites that feels like an extension of your arms. You think it — and the kite does it. The wind window is huge, providing you with ample space to explore, play, and push it.

Honestly, these solo sessions are some of the best moments at the Nordic Kite Meeting. No crowds, no schedule — just you, your kite, and the wind doing its thing. Whether you’re carving up the sky with crisp moves or just cruising around in flow mode, it’s incredibly satisfying.

And hey, if you want to see what I’m talking about, you’re in luck —
Check out the footage Farid shot in the video below! He captured one of those chill, perfect sessions where everything just clicks.

Stay Chill with an A-Quad Hardcore

So next time you head out to a kite meet, don’t forget to pack your favorite flyer — because while team flying gets the applause, solo flying is where the soul of the sport lives.
