What’s in the backseat of my car…? Hey! Kites! What’s in my rucksack…? Hey, a drone! What’s in the cup? Hey, coffee! So the choice was an easy one. I went flying a kite!
Some fifteen minutes later I entered the parking lot, stopped the car and got all the stuff before I started walking the final few hundred meters down to the water. The beach was totally covered in snow except the final meter at the water. A small strip of sand made for a perfect launching and landing point for the DJI Mavic Mini, but first I wanted to get the big orange Rokkaku up into the air.
I found a solid rock to anchor the kite and started to assemble the Rok’. Soon it was up there in the somewhat turbulent winds. A little more line and the kite climbed a little higher and the higher it got the more stable the wind.
Soon it was time to fire up the drone and try to capture some footage of the kite up there.
Check it out!
