He’d probably been around for a while because I remembered him playing with his kick bike when I got to the beach. I could also tell from the look of his face that he was really fascinated by the kite and his flying.
So I thought I’d give him a go.
“Do you wanna try?” I asked, and before that question mark had left my vocal cords, he shouted “YES!!!” and his face just exploded in a BIG grin!
So he came over, stood in front of me and we grabbed the handles. He just held on while I guided both his input and the kite flying it up and down several times. I told him that the next time the kite was high up there, I’d let go of his hands and he was on his own.
He just loved it,and it didn’t take long until he managed to keep the kite in the air for quite some time.
I helped him put the kite back into flying when he crashed and the little fella was super happy.
When he told me he was six years only I was quite impressed how he at his age managed to coordinate his input to keep the kite in the air for so “long” periods of the time.
After a while I had to pack up and head for home, but not until we had tried to fix his helmet to the kite and have the kite fly around with it. Yeah, it worked! And off course playing the “try to catch the kite if you can!” game!
I guess he kind of made my day too! ????
